Edm8ker Expands Partnership with The Elizabeth Peabody House Association: to Enhance STEM Education in Greater Boston.

Building on past collaborations, Edm8ker and TEPH join forces to deliver hands-on STEM programs, professional development, and community engagement initiatives for local students and educators.

Somerville, MA – [2 Jan 2024] edm8ker, a leading innovator in STEM and digital-making education, is excited to announce an expanded partnership with The Elizabeth Peabody House Association (TEPH) to further promote future-ready skills and creative problem-solving among youth in Greater Boston. This deeper collaboration builds on previous successful joint projects, such as a summer school digital makerspace pilot program, instructional coaching, and empowering informal educators to run online makerspaces.

edm8ker’s Makercart, which was previously purchased by TEPH, has already been a key tool in delivering hands-on STEM learning experiences. Through this partnership, Edm8ker will enhance its support to TEPH by providing:

  • Monthly STEM Activities: Facilitating up to two Makercart Activities per month, from November 2024 to June 2025, with complete supplies and a trained STEM educator. These sessions will continue fostering creativity and innovation among students through hands-on projects.
  • Professional Development and Instructional Coaching: Continuing to offer coaching and instructional support to TEPH staff, ensuring they are equipped to run high-quality STEM programs independently, in line with past collaborations.
  • Quarterly STEM Workshops: Engaging the broader community by hosting hands-on workshops for families, aligning with TEPH’s mission to foster community involvement through education.

“While The Elizabeth Peabody House is well-known for its focus on social-emotional development, we are committed to preparing our students for the future. This means exposing our students to broader physical and digital maker-centric programs” said Matthew Caughey, Executive Director. “So, we are excited to strengthen our partnership with edm8ker, increasing our staff capacity, helping kids develop future-ready skills, and engaging our families in these efforts.”

"Over the years, we’ve built a strong relationship with The Elizabeth Peabody House Association, and this expanded partnership represents a natural progression in our joint mission to equip students with essential skills for the future,” said Terence Tan, GM (North America) & Product Manager. "We’re proud of the impact we’ve made so far and look forward to continuing to work together to inspire the next generation of makers and innovators."

In addition to programming, edm8ker will benefit from dedicated prototyping studio and storage space within TEPH’s facility, allowing the organization to scale its STEM and digital-making offerings and reach more students across Greater Boston.
